Some job markets almost disappear in times like these but others are still booming.
One recession proof job is being a nurse.
There is always a high demand for nurses no matter how bad the economy gets and it pays well. Not only does it pay well but also you will secure a benefits package that is not comparable by many other careers.
This includes everything from health insurance to tuition reimbursement.
This all depends on whom you work for but nurses have lots of room to grow within their field.
A lot of public schools are impacted with students trying to become nurses.
At times, it takes 2 years to find out if you even qualify for the nursing program. You have to take pre-nursing classes or pre-med classes that include, organic chemistry, anatomy, as well as some math classes.
Once you are accepted it normally takes another three years within the program until you finally become a registered nurse.
This also entails endless hours of volunteering your time at hospitals.
If you don't have the time you can also do another program for becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse is approximately one year or less and make only a few dollars less than Registered Nurses.
In most cases LPNs find employment in nursing homes, medical clinics, doctors offices and hospitals.
LPNs are required to pass a state licensing exam (NCLEX-PM) upon graduation from Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
(2) A high school diploma as well as a nursing entrance test is required to gain admittance into the program.
You can also take this program at India State University that enables LPN's and LVNs to complete all upper-level nursing courses online after they have taken all your general education courses.
There are no excuses not to become a nurse if you can find a job in your sector.
Think about it, one year from now you could be working at a hospital helping save peoples lives. The reward isn't always about the money(but close) and you can get the best of both worlds.
